Movie review: Here Alone (2017)

I had no idea what this movie was about when I flipped it on, other than it was a zombie-type movie. It centers around a woman living alone in her car/camp in the middle of the woods. Immediately I was concerned, as I generally detest movies with rape scenes, and this one had all the makings of that. I don’t think I’m spoiling too much when I tell you that if you are like me, you can watch it in peace.

The film definitely seems lower budget, but the acting was great and the cinematography was excellent. The infected (not zombies as they are not undead) don’t appear until about half-way through. They don’t get too much camera time, which is good, as it is a lower budget movie, but they are well done. The first real visual, the infected in front of the refrigerator was a fantastic scene.

The ending left a bit lacking, though was good, giving you enough to think about for a bit.

Overall I give this film: 6.6/10

Characters: 6.5

Cast: 6

film quality: 7

Story: 7

Zombies: 6.5 (infected)

Lasting appeal: N/A (yet)
